Hexenhaus meets Bauhaus, architects Alison & Peter Smithson
Art history: Modernism
Following in true Bauhaus teachings of creating a 'total' work of art in which all arts, including architecture are brought together; modernism at its best.
British architects Alison & Peter Smithsons were amoung the most influential and controversial British architects of the mid-20th century. They are know for many accolades to design and architecture among them the 'Hexenhaus' house which they adapted from 1985 (for the next 15 years).

Fab Hotel Find: Singapore's Marina Bay Sands Hotel opens SkyPark
The hotel at the end of the earth or so it appears from the observation deck's pool (pictures 2 and 3). This is Singapore's Marina Bay Sands Hotel which has just launched (24th June 2010) it's spectacular Sands SkyPark. Featuring awe inspiring architecture and engineering, this is the creation of visionary architect Moshe Safdie. The SkyPark floats above three hotel towers 200m in the sky. Able to host nearly 4000 people and spanning four and a half Jumbo Jets. The SkyPark houses 1.2 Feast your eyes on Singapore's panorama view.

Strength in conversion 51N4E
In the old centre of Bruges architects 51N4E have converted an old shop into a contemporary weekend-home. The facade as well as the assets of the old house were kept intact. In the back where there use to be a temporary shed, the architects designed a wooden room. In the kitchen the old stairs reflect in the shiny super-furniture they newly designed.
